Submit your comedy script for a chance to have it read by top flight comedy talent in front of a live audience

Since 2019, Female Pilot Club has staged live readings of brilliant female-written comedy scripts by top flight comedy talent for public and industry audiences. Our finalists have gone on to attain representation and have their scripts optioned by production companies. We believe nothing proves good comedy like the sound of laughter!

Early Bird - Nov 1st to Dec 15 (£30)

Late Bird - Dec 16th to Jan 1st (£50)

Discount Price - Dec 16-Jan 1st (£30 for WGGB Members)*

But first, meet the Judges

Three brilliant industry judges will participate in selecting our Finalists.

Be sure to read their advice!

Submission Guidelines

Chosen Scripts

  • Two Finalists will have their scripts read to a live audience by top flight comedy talent

  • Finalists will also receive development notes from FPC in preparation for the show

  • Finalists, Semifinalists and Quarterfinalists will be all recognised across all FPC platforms

Script Brief

We are seeking 30 minute TV or radio scripts that are straight laugh-out-loud comedy pilots. Stories with a unique personal lens or local appeal are preferred, as well as stories that bring to light new perspectives; we welcome writers from diverse and working class backgrounds. We also have a strong preference for scripts that feature six or less main characters, and for sitcoms (versus comedy/dramas).

Our tips:

  1. Look at what's already been done... and do something new.

  2. Ensure your unique story also has broad appeal -- great comedy connects people!

  3. Read the advice of our brilliant Judges.

Requirements

  • Submit one TV or radio pilot script no more than 35 pages
