2025 FPC Showcase Event
Supported by BBC Comedy

Hosted by Jessica Knappett

Thank you for laughing with us!

iqlufCGy_400x400.jpg

Congratulations to Cerys Hughes, Kirsty Smith, Lotte Mullan, Seeta Wrightson & Stacey L. Kettner whose scripts were read live at the May 13, 2025 FPC Showcase Event!

Working class women are almost five times less likely to secure a creative job than men from privileged backgrounds, which is why Female Pilot Club has partnered with BBC Comedy to pair talented female comedy writers from working class backgrounds across the UK with industry mentors. Our wonderful sponsors who have made this event possible include Baby Cow Productions, Hat Trick Productions, Yellow Door Productions, CPL Productions & Black Dog Television. Five writers were paired with industry mentors to help polish their scripts in preparation for a live read-through by top flight comedy talent at a London showcase event in 2025.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on their submissions. We received 400 entries and were genuinely bowled over by the quality of the writing. If your script has not made it, please remember it does not mean it’s not a good idea or that you are not a good writer. Please, please keep writing.

Since 2019, Female Pilot Club has staged live readings of brilliant female-written comedy scripts by top flight comedy talent for public and industry audiences. Our finalists have gone on to attain representation and have their scripts optioned by production companies. We believe nothing proves good comedy like the sound of laughter.

Please join us in congratulating all writers; email us to subscribe and follow us on X or Instagram for updates.
